I'm normally just a red wine kinda girl, and Nic has become a wine connoisseur this year too. But on special occasions, holidays, vacations...we love a nice cocktail.
This is one of my winter/Christmas favorites because it has all the flavors of the holidays, it's a little sweet, but not over done, and it's not too strong so I can have more than one throughout the evening.
It's plant-based, dairy free, and super easy to make...
Ingredients:
3 oz of Whiskey
1.5 oz of Disaronno
3 oz of plant-based creamer, we use our homemade cinnamon cashew milk or Nutpods creamer
Sprinkle of nutmeg
optional: orange peel and/or cherry for garnish
Directions:
Add ice to a shaker. Pour in your Disaronno, amaretto and creamer then shake for about 30 seconds until everything is nice and cold. Pour into a short glass over ice (we like 1 large ice cube so it doesn't melt and water down the drink) and sprinkle with nutmeg. Garnish with orange peel rubbed around the rim of the glass and drop in a cherry. Christmas in a glass!
